Habitat for Humanity of York County follows the Habitat for Humanity International’s philosophy of building homes in partnership with qualified families. Habitat for Humanity International provides our affiliate with advice and support services, but all decisions as to how we operate and carry out our mission at the local level are made by our own Board of Directors.

Established in 1988, we are one of more than 2,100 active affiliates in 100 countries and including all 50 states. Like all other affiliates, we coordinate and carry out all aspects of Habitat including construction, fund raising, building site selection, partner family selection and support, and mortgage servicing. This work is all done at the local level with the help of volunteers.

As of 2006, our affiliate has built 32 homes in York County. The funds to build the homes come from individuals, churches, foundations, large and small businesses, our resale store and fund raising events. All contributions are tax deductible; and we also accept contributions of land, in-kind donations of construction materials and professional services. Please contact our office at 803-328-1728 if you’d like more information.
